Kirin://

> Pronunciation: (KEE-rin)


> English name: none. comes from chinese qilin.


> Distinctive features: Deer or horse like body with dragon scales, flowing mane, ox tail, and serene, noble face similar to a cross between dragon and horse. Often depicted with holy fire or glowing markings. Gentle and graceful, but still overall, majestic.


> Powers: Benevolence, divine protection, luck, Never harms other creatures and treads so lightly it doesn't even damage grass.


> Habitat: Mountains, sacred areas, or regions blessed with peace and prosperity.


> Claim to fame: One of the rarest and most revered creatures in Japanese mythology, the kirin is a sign of justice, virtue, and world peace. Think of it as the unicorn and dragon rolled into one. calm, holy, and awe-inspiring. Appears only during times of noble rule or when a wise leader arises.


> Common tattoo depictions: works best full body but can be done cropped by flame as smaller flash. looks best standing or leaping gracefully,  surrounded by flames, clouds, or flowers. pairs great large scale with phoenix or dragon.  


> Tattoo symbolism: Virtue, peace, protection, good fortune, wisdom, and the quiet power of serenity.
