Kaeru://

> Pronunciation: (KAH-eh-roo)

> English name: Frog

> Distinctive features: Literally a frog, you know what they look like. Big eyes, wide mouth, squat body, long back legs, in a variety of colours. In Japanese art they’re often a bit chunkier and more expressive, sometimes smiling or posed upright like a little dude with a personality.

> Powers: Mostly symbolic. Linked to safe travel, return, and good fortune. Also associated with water, rain, and adaptability. Not a fighter, more of a lucky charm energy.

> Habitat: Rivers, ponds, rice fields, wetlands. In tattoos, usually paired with water, reeds, lotus, or rainy scenes.

> Claim to fame: “Kaeru” means both frog and “to return” in Japanese, which is why they’re a classic good luck symbol for travelers and money coming back to you. Small but meaningful.

> Common tattoo depictions: Works great small or medium. Can be a standalone little piece as a head or simple full body, naked or themed with clothing. pairs well with coins for money luck too.

> Tattoo symbolism: Good luck, safe return, adaptability, prosperity, and going home in one piece.
