Houou://

> Pronunciation: HO-oh

> English name: Phoenix

> Distinctive features: A majestic bird with a rooster beak, pheasant head, snake neck, tortoise back, crane legs and a peacock tail. super colourful with a lot of flow through the feathers and tail feathers.

> Powers: not a fighter! the japanese phoenix is a symbol of virtue, harmony and balance instead of rebirth and fire.

> Habitat: The heavens or peaceful lands.

> Claim to fame: The Hō’ō appears only during times of peace when there's a good ruler, serving as a good omen for prosperity. remember the ho oh at the start of pokemon? guess what it's inspired by. It is often positioned as the spiritual counterpart to the dragon.

> Common tattoo depictions: the more space the better for this one to really capture the flow and movement of the wings and tail feathers. even better paired with a dragon for matching sleeves or ribs. pairs well with clouds or flowers like peony.

> Tattoo symbolism: Virtue, harmony, spiritual elevation, resilience, and balance. Perfect for showing personal growth, good fortune, or a peaceful mindset.

if you'd like to know more about any of these creatures or if i'm missing one let me know!
