so you want a tattoo but don't know what you want, or the best ways to do it.
don't worry i got you.

style, subject matter, size and placement. that's what you need to think about, so let's break those down and start with the first step, style.

style is the look of your tattoo. bold lines, fine lines or no lines? smooth shading or solid fills? each style has it's trademarks and defines the look of a tattoo.
what's your style?
personally i love japanese tattoos and those inspired by anime and video game art.

there are many other styles too though from american traditional to realism, from cultural patternwork like ta moko to geometric.
all styles can be done in colour or black and grey for a different feel too. for even more originality i love mixing parts of different styles!

what should your tattoo be of?

subject matter really comes down to what you like and what you think looks cool and that can be anything.

if you're after an anime/gaming tattoo just think who your favourite characters are, favourite enemies, weapons and items.

after something not nerdy? elements from nature like flowers and animals always look great. mythological creatures make badass tattoos.

maybe you want something symbolic? there's tons of imagery that represents courage, hard work, protection etc. so if you need suggestions for that just ask.

where shall we put it?

placement is super flexible for most things. symmetrical imagery suits symmetrical placement, but besides that most imagery and styles can be adapted to any location. just pick what you think looks cool.

how big should you go?

size is the most important factor for how much detail you can include.

skin doesn't stay the same forever, and as such the lines blur and spread a bit over time. go too detailed, and you can end up with a blob.

put simply if you want more detail, more characters and generally more in your tattoo? you'll need space for that.

a single pokemon can go quite small while all of the original 151 needs half your body to look good and age well over time.

if you need guidance, i'm here!

i design tattoos for a living, so don't feel like you've gotta sweat the details. a general brief of what you like, what style you like the look of, and where you want it is all i need to know.

let's work together to create something amazing.
